About the Position
The Lane County Clerk's Division, located at 275 W 10th Ave, in Eugene, is currently seeking an Office Assistant 2 positions to join our team. As an Office Assistant 2, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service while performing
various administrative tasks. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities including registering voters, providing customer service to candidates, voters, and the general public, receiving candidate and measure filings, ballot preparation, processing payment transactions, and assisting with the conduct of elections.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing exceptional customer service to individuals inquiring about elections, voter registration, and related matters.
Accepting various registrations, updates, and filings over the counter.
Answering questions regarding upcoming deadlines, accessible voting, and where to find forms, results, and filings.
Registering voters and providing necessary assistance to ensure compliance with requirements.
Assisting with other tasks relating to the conduct of elections, such as ballot issuance, return ballot processing, and voter assistance.

The County Clerk’s office plays a pivotal role in our community’s governance, overseeing essential functions that impact every Lane County resident. Lane County, the fourth most populous county in Oregon, encompasses a diverse landscape extending from the Pacific Ocean to the Cascade Mountains. Our county seat, Eugene, is the state’s second most populous city. Training:
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
Experience:
- Two years of responsible clerical and office assistance experience
Special Requirements:
County Clerk staff in this position perform statutorily required in person services and the office is open to the public, requiring staff to work on-site. During election season, staff may be required to work overtime and are subject to periods of restricted time off.
