What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Analyst position at Lane County?
Primary responsibilities of the Accounting Analyst are general ledger and chart of accounts maintenance, nVision reporting, bank reconciliations, and reconciling of other balance sheet accounts. The Accounting Analyst serves as the main contact for departments for general ledger and financial reporting related inquires and is responsible for month end and fiscal year end closing, preparation of monthly reports, and year-end financial audit schedules. This position is vital to the ongoing operations of the department. The successful candidate will have great analytical skills and a commitment to meeting timelines while being detail-orientated and producing accurate work.
About the Division
As part of the County Administration Department, the 16 FTE in the Financial Services Division perform functions related to accounting, financial reporting, investment of funds, cash management, debt management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll administration, and procurement. Financial Services is responsible for maintaining and reporting all financial transactions on an accurate and timely basis and preparing financial statements following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, including the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). Financial Services maintains effective accounting systems to control and report the receipt and disbursement of County and taxing districts funds and is responsible for receiving and recording all County expenditures and revenue obligations.
Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00am – 5:00pm

- Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, fiscal management or accounting or a related field.
- Three years of increasingly responsible experience in financial, accounting or statistical record-keeping and analysis. Some experience in a lead capacity is desirable.
- Direct financial or accounting experience with federal or state employment and training programs is desirable;
- or an equivalent combination of experience and training that will demonstrate the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
