County Administration is seeking a qualified budget analyst to perform activities related to the preparation of the County’s budget and provide support to departments in the areas of budget development, contract and policy implementation. This position also serves as the system administrator for the County's budget software (Performance Budgeting) and document production tool (Workiva).
The preferred candidate will have experience and interest in the areas of governmental budgeting, fiscal and policy analysis, financial planning, software support, and budget preparation to join the County's Central Budget Office team as a Budget Analyst.
The analysts are often tasked with assisting County departments with budget development and monitoring in addition to overall financial and policy analysis and budget performance. This is the first level in the Budget Analyst series. Incumbents perform professional-level activities related to the research and analyses of routine administrative and business management policies and practices while developing proficiency and experience related to government operations and administration. Responsibilities can include preparing and presenting statistical and related reports; providing administrative and analytical support; and making recommendations regarding budget, program, contract, and/or service delivery modifications.
Additional Duties Will Include
The Central Budget Office is part of the County Management division of the County Administration Department and is led by the Budget & Financial Planning Manager who reports directly to the County Administrator. The Office is responsible for management of the annual and supplemental budget development, coordination and preparation of the County’s 5-year capital improvement plan, contract and Board agenda item review and approval, financial analysis of special projects, supporting the County’s Budget Committee, policy analysis, and overall financial management support.
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm. There is flexibility for this position to work up to 40% remotely after an initial training period.*This is a non-represented position*
