Position Summary
The Coordinator of Campus Life supports the day-to-day operations of the Office of Campus Life by serving as the primary point of contact for student engagement, student organizations, and campus involvement. This position is responsible for providing direct, on-the-ground support to student clubs, organizations, and student leaders while assisting in the execution of campus programs and activities.
Working closely with the Director of Campus Life, this role ensures that student organizations are supported, events are executed effectively, and students remain engaged in meaningful co-curricular experiences that enhance retention, leadership development, and campus belonging.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Student Organizations & Direct Student Engagement
- Serve as the primary advisor and support contact for registered student organizations.
- Oversee the student organization registration process, ensuring compliance with policies and access to campus resources.
- Provide day-to-day guidance to student leaders, including officers of organizations such as SGA, CAB, NPHC, Royal Court,and other clubs.
- Maintain regular office hours and high visibility to ensure accessibility to students.
- Assist students with navigating campus processes, policies, and event planning logistics.
- Track and monitor student engagement and participation across organizations.
Event Execution & Campus Programming Support
- Coordinate and execute small- to mid-scale campus events and student activities.
- Provide operational support for major campus traditions such as Welcome Week, Homecoming, Discovery Week, and leadership programs.
- Assist with logistics including space reservations, scheduling, equipment, vendors, and event setup/teardown.
- Support Campus Activity Board (CAB) in implementing engaging programming and activities.
- Ensure events are executed in compliance with institutional policies and safety protocols.
Leadership Development & Student Support
- Coordinate student leadership training sessions, workshops, and retreats.
- Support programs such as leadership institutes and student leadership development initiatives.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to student leaders to enhance leadership skills, accountability, and organizational effectiveness.
- Promote civic engagement, service opportunities, and community partnerships.
Greek Life & Student Organization Oversight Support
- Assist with coordination and monitoring of NPHC and Greek Life programming, including trainings and compliance initiatives.
- Support implementation of risk management education, including anti-hazing awareness programming.
- Work with student leaders to ensure adherence to institutional policies and standards.
Administrative & Operational Support
- Maintain accurate records of:
- Student organizations
- Event participation
- Space reservations
- Engagement metrics
- Assist with campus space scheduling and coordination for student activities.
- Support assessment efforts by collecting and reporting data on student engagement outcomes.
- Assist the Director with reports, program evaluations, and planning materials.
Campus Presence & Community Building
- Foster a visible and engaging campus presence by attending events and interacting with students.
- Promote a welcoming, inclusive environment aligned with institutional values and student development goals.
- Encourage student participation in traditions and co-curricular opportunities that build school pride.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- 1-3 years of experience in student affairs, campus life, or related area (graduate assistant experience acceptable)
- Experience working directly with student organizations or student leaders
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or related field
- Experience at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU)
- Experience advising student organizations, Greek Life, or student government
- Familiarity with student engagement platforms and event management systems

Salary : $35,000 - $45,000
