Position: Assistant Professor of Sociology
Department: Social Sciences
Reports to: Department Chair of Social Sciences
FSLA Classification: Full-Time Exempt
Department of Social Sciences, within the Division of Business, Social, and Behavioral Sciences, at Lane College, is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Social Sciences. The Assistant Professor will work closely with the Department of Social Sciences to implement andinstruct students using various instructional modes in traditional (occasional hybrid, or online) settings. This is an on-site position. This is a tenure-track opportunity.
Job Responsibilities:
- Execute teaching strategies, monitor and evaluate student progress, and maintain accurate student records.
- Advise and mentor students.
- Participate in department, division, and college meetings.
- Attend scheduled Department, division, and college staff meetings.
- Contribute to the College and community environment
- Teach 4 courses (12 hours).
Qualifications:
- Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Sociology
- A doctorate in Sociology is preferred.
- Ability to teach Sociology
- Excellent computer, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Sitting for long periods of time, walking, climbing stairs, bending, and stretching may be required at a minimum of 1% of the time.

Salary : $35,000 - $50,000
