We are a well-established wholesale horticultural distribution company serving landscape contractors, municipalities, and the green industry throughout Long Island. Primary Responsibilities
Purchasing & Procurement
Source products from growers, manufacturers, and suppliers
Build, cultivate, and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers
Develop new supplier relationships to improve product selection, pricing, quality, and availability
Request and compare quotes from multiple vendors
Negotiate the best pricing, freight rates, and purchasing terms
Forecast inventory requirements based on seasonal demand and sales trends
Place purchase orders and monitor open orders
Coordinate delivery schedules with growers, suppliers, and freight companies
Shop for the best pricing on inventory, freight, and transportation
Work closely with management to maintain proper inventory levels while minimizing overstock and shortages
Office Coordination
Create and manage purchase orders
Process receiving paperwork and verify incoming shipments
Prepare customer invoices and maintain accurate records
Perform data entry with a high level of accuracy
Update and maintain our company website
Add new products, pricing, descriptions, and product photos
Answer phones and provide excellent customer service
Organize office files and administrative records
Assist with daily office operations and other administrative duties as needed
Qualifications

Strong with computers and able to learn new software quickly
Comfortable communicating with vendors, growers, suppliers, and customers
A self-starter who takes initiative and thrives in a fast-paced environment
Professional, dependable, and personable
Able to multitask while maintaining accuracy
Someone who enjoys problem-solving and takes pride in doing things right the first time
Industry Experience
Experience in horticulture, wholesale nursery operations, landscaping, purchasing, inventory management, or supply chain is a significant advantage. Knowledge of plant material, nursery stock, landscape supplies, or the green industry is highly desirable.
However, we’re willing to train the right person. If you’re intelligent, motivated, organized, and eager to learn, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t have direct horticultural experience.
