SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR (II/III) - MSP Herndon, VA

THE ROLE We're hiring a Systems Administrator (II/III) for a growing MSP in the DC metro that's modernizing the way it delivers infrastructure work. You'll execute projects end-to-end under vCTO direction — firewall refreshes, LAN rebuilds, server migrations, office moves, and workstation rollouts. Pod vCTOs scope the work and own the client relationship. You own the install. Three field techs execute your runbooks behind you.

This is a build-your-career seat, not a cable-pulling seat. Team members here follow a defined growth track: infrastructure to cloud to governance to AI engineering.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Execute server migrations and rebuilds to spec (Windows Server, AD, Hyper-V/VMware)
• Run physical infrastructure projects: firewalls, switching, cabling, office moves
• Build and refine runbooks for field techs and direct their execution
• Escalate blockers to the vCTO and own the execution timeline
• Serve as the local hands for a client base modernizing its infrastructure

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 4-6 years of infrastructure/MSP experience
• Hands-on server migration experience, executed as part of a team
• Comfort being client-facing on site, representing the company in their building
• Firewall/network fundamentals (SonicWall, NetGear)
• SonicWall depth: HA pairs, site-to-site VPN, licensing
• Autopilot/Intune experience: zero-touch deployment at scale
• ITGlue documentation habits
• ConnectWise Manage experience
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly to client sites in NoVA/DC/MD
