What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Operator position at Landsdown Earth and Pipe?
PAY IS BASED ON EXPERIENCE!!
Operates and maintains heavy equipment used in aggregate production and site work, including loaders, excavators, haul trucks, dozers, and skid steers. Safely moves, loads, and stockpiles sand, gravel, crushed stone, and recycled materials to meet production targets and quality specs. Performs pre- and post-shift inspections, basic preventative maintenance, and minor repairs; reports defects and coordinates with mechanics to minimize downtime. Follows pit plans, signals, and traffic patterns; works closely with plant operators, quality control, and trucking to ensure efficient material flow. Adheres to MSHA/OSHA and company safety standards, including lockout/tagout, dust control, and slope awareness, while maintaining clean, organized work areas. Reads scales, monitors material gradation, and uses onboard technology (e.g., load scales, telematics, GPS) to optimize cycle times and reduce fuel burn. Adjusts to changing site conditions, weather, and priorities; supports plant cleanup, conveyor maintenance, and other duties as assigned. Proven track record of dependable attendance, clear communication, and teamwork in fast-paced quarry, pit, and recycling environments.
Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
