Position Summary

The Accountant is an experienced accounting professional responsible for applying generally accepted accounting principles to prepare, analyze, and review financial information. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and support of business operations, working with minimal oversight and a high level of professionalism.

Essential Responsibilities

• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries

• Perform balancing and reconciliation of general ledger accounts

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports

• Identify, investigate, and correct errors or inconsistencies in financial data

• Participate in regular financial review meetings with management

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting procedures

• Prepare and file sales tax and personal property tax returns across multiple states

• Monitor changes in sales tax laws and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders

• Provide guidance to internal teams on applicable sales tax rules and rates

• Assist with annual audits and budget preparation as directed

• Maintain confidentiality of company and client financial information

• Demonstrate a service-oriented, solution-focused approach with internal and external partners

• Complete additional duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with accuracy

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and sound business judgment

• High attention to detail and commitment to quality work

• Professional written and verbal communication skills

• Strong sense of ownership, integrity, and accountability

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with Sage and Trimble accounting software preferred

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 1–3 years of relevant experience
  OR

• Equivalent combination of education and experience, including 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
