What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Manager-Floriculture position at Landscape Workshop LLC?
Summary:
This position requires an individual to be creative while ensuring projects are completed professionally, safely, within budget and on time. Key Responsibilities:
· Lead our team of Floriculture experts in support of our branches
· Take a leadership role with the branches to manage floriculture design services, process and requests
· Develop systems to ensure that, as a company, we are delivering on our color install commitments and exceeding our customers’ expectations
· Build capabilities within our branches to allow them to deliver the majority of the color installations independently
· As needed, provide support to branches by preparing drawings, identifying plant choices, or providing images, etc., and presenting to branches and/or key clients in a timely and effective manner
· Manage the production for high quality landscape service, including understanding basic horticultural concepts, communicating with branches and/or clients and partnering with our floriculture crews
· Train the account management team on ways to propose and sell high quality design work to company clients
· Assist with building solid client relationships as well as increase seasonal color sales with existing client base
· Perform special projects as needed.
· Update and maintain a seasonal color contact list and database as jobs are added and deleted.
· Maintain and update the seasonal color books in a hard copy format and on the server for all branches.
· Provide pricing structures for seasonal color for LW.
· Create and Manage Cultural Programs and Practices:
o Installation of Beds / Planters / baskets / bulbs
o care and maintenance
o Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
o fertilization / feeding
o watering
o Take the lead on negotiating with Vendors and Suppliers for items such as:
o Live Material – annuals, perennials, bulbs
o Hard Materials
o Liners / Pots
o Chemicals and Fertilizers
· Oversight and management of Procurement, Ordering, delivery of live and hard materials for the branch locations
· Development and training of floriculture personnel in the branch locations
· Provide cost estimates/ budgets for the branches related to floriculture
· Manage floriculture inventory transfers for LW
· Coordinate the growing of hanging baskets for LW
· Manage the water crews where appropriate
