Duties
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, pruning, planting, and fertilizing to keep outdoor spaces vibrant and healthy
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as lawnmowers, power tools, excavators, and irrigation systems safely and efficiently
- Assist with hardscape installation projects like patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other construction elements
- Manage tree care activities including trimming, pruning, planting, and removal while adhering to safety protocols
- Conduct pest management activities using appropriate pesticide applications following safety guidelines
- Support snow plowing operations during winter months to ensure safe access and pathways
- Identify various plants and horticultural elements to ensure proper care and maintenance
Requirements
- Prior outdoor work experience or landscaping background preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential
- Knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques and use of hand tools and power tools
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment operation and troubleshooting
- Ability to identify different plant species and understand basic horticulture principles
- Familiarity with irrigation systems, including installation and repairs
- Understanding of safety protocols related to equipment operation and outdoor work environments
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy materials, digging, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Construction experience or familiarity with hardscape projects is a plus
- Valid outdoor work permit or legal right to work in the area
