Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mason to join our construction team. As a Mason, you will be responsible for creating durable, high-quality structures using a variety of materials and techniques. Your expertise will contribute to both new construction projects and renovation efforts, ensuring safety, precision, and aesthetic appeal. Your hands-on approach and attention to detail will help us deliver exceptional results on every project. You will be hired for specific projects. Work includes setting natural stone, mortar work, and building stone features per project standards.
Duties
- Construct, repair, and restore structures such as walls, facades, and foundations using bricks, concrete blocks, stone, and other materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute project specifications.
- Operate hand tools (trowels, hammers, chisels), power tools (drills, saws), and heavy equipment (forklifts, mixers) safely and efficiently.
- Execute concrete finishing techniques including pouring, leveling, smoothing, and curing to achieve desired textures and finishes.
- Apply caulking and sealants for weatherproofing or finishing touches on masonry work.
- Assist with renovation projects by restoring existing structures through masonry repairs or modifications.
- Collaborate with project managers to estimate material needs, plan workflows, and adhere to safety protocols on-site.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris responsibly throughout the project lifecycle.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction or masonry work with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Familiarity with concrete forming processes and rebar installation techniques.
- Skilled in blueprint reading and interpreting schematics for accurate execution of designs.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation (such as forklifts, skidsteers), and safety equipment.
- Knowledge of various masonry materials including brick, stone, concrete blocks, and related building components.
- Experience working on construction sites with adherence to safety standards in diverse environments including renovation projects.

- Ability to work efficiently and produce clean, consistent work
- Must comply with NM Prevailing Wage for Bricklayer/Block Layer/Stonemason (Doña Ana County):
$26.42 base $8.98 fringe (Wage Decision DA-24-0100-B) Wage Decision (1)
Pay: $35.40 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
