Accounting Specialist
This role plays a key part in supporting daily accounting operations with a strong focus on Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, invoicing, bookkeeping, inventory reconciliation, payroll support, reporting, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate will be organized, analytical, customer-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced seasonal business environment. This is a full time, year-round position.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, customer invoicing, payment posting, and other daily accounting activities.
- Assist with payroll processing and payroll-related documentation.
- Maintain accurate financial records, general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Monitor and reconcile inventory to ensure accurate valuation and reporting.
- Support seasonal cash flow management and financial planning activities.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Prepare financial, operational, inventory, and job costing reports for management review.
- Complete cash reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Support tax reporting, compliance requirements, and annual audit preparation.
- Maintain organized accounting records and ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies.
- Communicate professionally with vendors, customers, and business clients regarding billing and account matters.
- Collaborate with leadership and division managers to support accurate financial reporting and operational success.
- Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related experience
- Experience with GAAP in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, inventory accounting, payroll support, and general ledger functions.
- Experience with retail operations preferred.
- Job costing
- Knowledge of month-end close procedures and financial reporting.
- Experience with accounting software such as QBO and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a seasonal business environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
