Summary/Objective

The Branch Manager is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the branch, maintaining high standards of customer service, achieving sales targets, and promoting a positive work environment. Additionally, they oversee crew deployment, scheduling and routing, quality control, and coordination between the shop, office, and field teams.


Essential Functions

Overall Responsibilities and Key Duties

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop branch strategies and objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and improvement within the branch.
  • Prepare performance reports for the branch and present them to upper management.
  • Understand contract specifications and obligations, ensuring they are met while maintaining complete customer satisfaction.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop branch staff to achieve both individual and team goals.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work culture.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Coordinate with the Field Supervisor to gather information needed for Crew Leaders and their teams to complete jobs effectively.
  • Ensure proper inventory levels of materials, equipment, and supplies are maintained to support production activities.
  • Optimize the use of field personnel, equipment, and materials while coordinating with other divisions to minimize waste.
  • Address customer complaints promptly, ensuring effective resolution to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain costs within all assigned operating budgets.
  • Enforce all safety standards, protocols, and regulations to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents.
  • Support the development, implementation, and refinement of departmental best practices in all areas of field operations and safety, staying informed about new methods applicable to the company.
  • Manage and track warranty work to minimize occurrences.
  • Ensure all field reporting and records are accurately completed and effectively communicated between the field and office.
  • Drive sales growth by developing and executing strategic sales plans.
  • Monitor branch financial performance closely.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to enhance satisfaction and retention.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain a positive attitude at all times while demonstrating strong leadership and professionalism.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Monitor and direct crew activities each morning, including clocking crews in and providing safety gear
  • Ensure crews have all necessary equipment and supplies for daily tasks, including any special-order inventory required for unique work orders.
  • Meet with field supervisors and foremen as needed to address quality issues and other concerns.
  • Foster a positive attitude among staff through effective management and interpersonal skills.
  • Coordinate and execute requests from account managers, which may include meeting with customers prior to crew visits.

Weekly Responsibilities

  • Conduct weekly sales and operations meetings.
  • Hold weekly safety, productivity, and quality meetings with crews.
  • Ensuring the crew adheres to the budgeted hours for each job based on information available in Aspire.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hours are subject to change, as this position interacts with office and field. Occasional after-hours and weekend work may be required and is anticipated as needed.


    Travel

    This position may require overnight travel. These requirements will vary based on business needs. A company truck will be provided for authorized business use. Company vehicles are to be used strictly for work-related purposes, and passengers must be limited to employees, vendors, or clients. Extensive driving may be necessary.

    Please Note: Smoking is strictly prohibited in all company vehicles.


    Required Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture or 4-year experience in landscape maintenance
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in management or supervisory role, preferably in Landscape
    • Computer Skills – Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Aspire or similar software experience
    • Preferred Education and Experience
    • Certifications in Landscape Maintenance and Irrigation
    • Qualified Applicator License
    • Landscape Contractor License
    • Bilingual in Spanish
