Senior Technical Project Manager

About the Role

We are looking to expand our Data & Technology team and looking for contract Senior Technical Project Managers with experience driving data transformations in a leadership role, combining strong technical fluency with structured execution. This high visibility contract role will lead the execution for enterprise-wide transformations, translating strategy into delivery, partnering close with senior leadership, and business and technology stakeholders. This contract role will require 40-hours a week for approximately 6-18 months. NO AGENCIES PLEASE.

Scope of Work Includes:

Program Leadership & Delivery:

• Lead end-to-end delivery of client’s enterprise data transformation program
• Translate strategic objectives into roadmaps, delivery plans, and execution milestones
• Drive implementation of data ingestion pipelines, data platform, and business-ready data products and analytics

Cross-Functional Coordination Across:

• Data engineering, architecture, and integration teams
• Internal stakeholders (Commercial, Finance, Marketing, Operations)
• External vendors and implementation partners
• Manage dependencies across systems including operational data stores and enterprise data platforms

Business & Technical Translation:

• Convert business use cases into clear technical delivery requirements
• Ensure alignment between business priorities and data platform capabilities
• Partner with stakeholders to define success metrics and measurable outcomes

Agile Delivery & Operating Model:

• Establish structured delivery practices (Agile/Scrum or hybrid)
• Shift teams from ticket-based execution to outcome-driven delivery
• Build and manage prioritized backlogs aligned to business value

Governance & Quality:

• Support implementation of data governance frameworks, including:
• Data definitions and standards
• Data quality controls
• Certification processes for business KPIs (Gold layer outputs)
• Ensure accountability across teams for delivery and data integrity

Executive Communication & Reporting:

• Develop and maintain program dashboards and reporting
• Provide clear updates on progress, risks, and dependencies
• Support executive and board-level communication as needed

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of experience in technical project/program management
• Proven track record delivering data platforms, data warehouses, or data transformation initiatives
• Strong understanding of data pipelines (ingestion, transformation, consumption); Data lake and data warehouse architectures; Integration patterns (APIs, ETL, batch, streaming)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred: S3, Redshift, Glue)
• Familiarity with tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, or similar analytics platforms is a plus
• Experience working in cross-functional environments spanning business and technology
• Legally authorized for permanent work in United States (no sponsorship or Visa holders)
• Must live in NYC or surrounding area – hybrid environment with in-office required 2x/week
