Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Superintendent role based in Palmetto, FL. The Superintendent will oversee day-to-day field operations, including scheduling, coordination, and supervision of crews and subcontractors for site work, utilities, and structural concrete projects. Responsibilities include monitoring job progress, enforcing safety standards, ensuring quality control, and resolving issues that may impact schedule or budget. The Superintendent will review plans and specifications, participate in pre-construction and progress meetings, and maintain accurate daily reports and project documentation. The role also involves coordinating inspections, managing materials and equipment on site, and communicating regularly with project managers, clients, and trade partners to keep projects on track.
Qualifications
- Proven experience supervising field operations in site work, utilities, and structural concrete, preferably including tilt-wall construction.
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Solid understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing of work, and coordination with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Demonstrated commitment to jobsite safety, including knowledge of OSHA standards and best practices.
- Effective leadership, team management, and conflict-resolution skills in a field environment.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for interaction with crews, management, inspectors, and clients.
- Proficiency with basic construction technology tools (e.g., email, project management or scheduling software, digital plan viewing).
- Ability to work on site in varying weather conditions and to perform regular walking, standing, and site inspections.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or an associate degree in construction-related fields is preferred.
- Several years of relevant superintendent, foreperson, or field leadership experience in civil, concrete, or utility construction.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from Palmetto, FL job sites.
