Join our dedicated team as a Full-Time Personal Care Specialist, working a rotating schedule that includes evening and overnight shifts with four days on followed by two days off. Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to ensure residents’ health status is maintained
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols and document all medication administration in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, employing memory care techniques and behavior management strategies
- Support residents during meal preparation and feeding to promote proper nutrition and hydration
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning resident areas and equipment
- Document resident progress, incidents, and care activities thoroughly while communicating effectively with team members and healthcare professionals
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care environments with a focus on senior or long-term care
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and emergency response protocols to ensure resident safety at all times
- Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized support
- Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and recognize signs of health deterioration
- Experience with medication administration, dementia care techniques, and behavior management strategies
- Competence in using EMR systems for documentation and reporting purposes
- Valid driver’s license preferred for transportation needs; experience in driving or group home settings is advantageous
- Strong caregiving skills combined with excellent communication abilities to foster trust and rapport with residents
