GENERAL SUMMARY:
Promotes staff adherence to ensure conformance to applicable federal, state, and local statutory and regulatory requirements. Provides support to the Clinical Manager, Clinical Supervisor and Quality Coordinator. The Clinical Assistant is part of the Quality Improvement team (QAPI). Oversight of the Scheduling.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Providing support to clinical management staff.
- Scheduling patient admissions, ensuring staff visits are covered when they are off. Completing Weekend and Holiday schedules.
- Answering phone handling issues from staff and patients. Communicating with Clinical Supervisors.
- Completing the workbasket daily.
- Ordering Medical Supplies.
- Reviewing fax for returned physician orders and returning orders to patient chart.
- Performs Medicare Billing Audits, Non Medicare Billing Audits, Multidisciplinary Chart Audits and other audits as assigned.
- Adheres to Company Standards policies and procedures.
- Provides a high level of customer service to internal and external customers.
- Participates in on call schedule.
- Visits patients in overflow situations.
- Has access to electronic, manual or written protected health information by scope and responsibility. Will be required to adhere to the privacy practices as detailed in the Notice of Privacy Practices, privacy policies and procedures.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE REQUIRED:
- Graduate from an accredited School of Practical Nursing.
- Current license through examination by the State Board of Nursing Examiners of Pennsylvania.
- Minimum of one (2) year home care experience required.
- Minimum of two (2) years medical/surgical staff nursing experience.
- Knowledge and skill in home health nursing practice, Medicare and all other third-party reimbursement criteria.
- Current CPR certification.
- Valid current driver's license and necessary insurance coverage as mandated by the State.
PHYSICAL JOB DEMANDS:
- Ability to physically move, shift, lift 100 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb and descend stairs and reach above objects.
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Normal working hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. May need to schedule evening and weekend appointments with staff members as necessary.
- Potential to work remote days after 6 months of employment.
- Exempt position.
