A global hedge fund specializing in emerging markets, managing approximately $10 billion across multiple funds, is seeking an Operations Analyst for their New York office. The role involves trade capture, trade matching/allocation, and the full reconciliation process.
Job Responsibilities:
- Liaise with the execution desk to ensure trades are booked on time and trade issues are remedied the same day.
- Actively monitor, allocate, and confirm trades across various platforms for FX PB trades.
- Perform reconciliations across FX, OTC, Futures, Equities, and Fixed Income products.
- Coordinate the hedging of FX exposures with Treasury colleagues.
- Process OTC and collateral wires, manage fund cash balances, and ensure secure funding in the Money Markets.
- Perform swap netting at LCH, CME, and ICE to compress Interest Rate Swaps and Credit Default Swaps.
- Review and process FX netting of positions with prime brokers.
- Process bilateral and repo collateral movements, resolve disputes promptly, and ensure margin calls are met.
- Monitor all aspects of UMR compliance, including dispute resolution and collateral substitutions.
- Manage local market settlements and corporate action events across multiple African markets.
- Liaise with counterparties, fund administrators, and custodians on trade and settlement matters.
- Contribute ideas to improving efficiency and controls.
- Maintain and periodically review static and reference data.
- 1–2 years of work experience at a top-tier financial services institution.
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or economics.
- Knowledge of financial instruments such as bonds, futures, foreign exchange, and derivatives.
- Experienced user of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in the operations area of a hedge fund, investment manager, or prime brokerage firm is preferred.
- Prior knowledge of MarkitWire, Tradeserve, MTM, CTM, and OTC Clearing is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of interest rate swaps/credit default swaps and their workflow is preferred.
