Grade 6 Teacher

Lander-Grinspoon Academy, a private school in Northampton, MA, is currently seeking a dynamic, creative and highly motivated full-time 6th grade teacher. What you will do You will teach general studies to 6th grade students every day. In addition you will: 

Plan and deliver lessons in Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies

Plan and oversee graduation

Staff the “Teva” environmental overnight trip

Support families in transitioning to 7th grade placements

Partner with families in regular communication

Nurture within each student a joyful sense of identity

Commit to implementing our social/emotional curriculum as well as our strong academic program Qualifications Our ideal candidate is enthusiastic about contributing to school-wide initiatives including social justice, our on-site working farm, and creative arts. In addition, you:

Hold a Bachelor's degree

Have at least 5 years of teaching experience, ideally in 6th grade

Are enthusiastic about contributing to school-wide initiatives including social justice, our on-site working farm, and creative arts

Are equally committed to our social/emotional curriculum as to our strong academic program

Salary is $45,000-$55,000, commensurate with experience and education
