Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, motivated and detail-oriented Hardscape Laborer to join out team. In this role, you will be instrumental in transforming outdoor spaces through the installation of durable and aesthetically pleasing hardscape features such as patios, walkways, retaining walls, pillars and other landscape elements. Your energetic approach and commitment to quality will help ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of construction sites by clearing debris, setting up materials, and ensuring a safe work environment.
- Lay bricks, pavers, stone, concrete blocks, and other hardscape materials with precision according to blueprints and schematics.
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely to cut, shape, and install various hardscape components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure accurate installation.
- Mix and pour concrete for foundations, slabs, or other structural elements involved in hardscape projects.
- Collaborate with team members on site to coordinate tasks such as excavation, grading, and finishing work.
- Maintain equipment and tools in excellent condition; report any repairs needed promptly.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while working around heavy equipment, power tools, and construction materials.
Qualifications
- Prior experience and knowledge of hardscape installation is highly required.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings related to masonry and concrete forming.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as trowels, chisels, hammers, levels, as well as power tools including saws and drills.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as skid steers or mini-excavators is a plus.
- Knowledge of construction management principles including safety procedures and project coordination.
- Experience with related skills like masonry, concrete finishing, fabrication, carpentry (including trim carpentry), plastering or roofing is advantageous.
- Strong physical stamina; capable of lifting heavy materials repeatedly while working outdoors in various weather conditions.
