Duties
- Develop comprehensive construction estimates utilizing HeavyBid or similar estimating software to ensure accurate project cost projections.
- Lead sales efforts by identifying new business opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and negotiating contracts that align with company goals.
- Prepare detailed proposals and bids that include scope of work, pricing strategies, and cost control measures.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather site-specific information and incorporate construction site experience into estimates.
- Implement marketing strategies to promote services, enhance brand visibility, and expand the company's presence in target markets.
- Review contracts thoroughly to ensure compliance with project specifications, budgets, and legal requirements.
- Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to maintain budget adherence and identify opportunities for cost control improvements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials pricing, and construction management best practices to support accurate estimating and competitive positioning.
Skills
- Proficiency in Bluebeam for document markup, plan review, and collaboration on construction drawings.
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Experience with HeavyBid or equivalent construction estimating software for detailed bid preparation.
- Deep understanding of construction estimating processes, including take-offs, pricing strategies, and scope development.
- Solid background in construction management principles with site experience that informs accurate cost assessments.
- Knowledge of contract administration, legal considerations, and project management methodologies within the construction industry.
- Expertise in cost control techniques to monitor budgets effectively during project execution.
