Job Description:
Title: Wiring Technician
Location: St Louis, MO 63132
Duration: 06 Months (with potential for extension).
Shift: 3rd Shift of the Day,
Pay Rate: $28.00/Hour
Position Summary:
A Wiring Technician at Client is responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, and troubleshooting wiring systems and electrical assemblies. The role involves working with control panels, electrical systems, wiring schematics, production equipment, and testing instruments to ensure high-quality products and services are delivered to customers. The technician will support production operations, maintain safety standards, and participate in continuous improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and wire control panels, door devices, and in-home systems.
- Run new wiring through residential or commercial properties, including drilling holes and routing cables.
- Test systems using diagnostic equipment to ensure safe and full functionality of installed systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring schematics, sketches, specifications, and descriptions to determine assembly sequence, tolerances, and adjustments.
- Perform routine electrical duties utilizing machines and tools requiring specialized training such as overhead cranes, power tools, and hand tools.
- Produce high-quality products and services necessary for final assembly and direct customer sales.
- Assemble, test, inspect, and complete units and systems to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Set up, wire, and operate (test) units per blueprint requirements.
- Monitor production processes and participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and production.
- Maintain work area cleanliness and ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Support the Client Operating System.
- Set up and change over equipment as required.
- Use measuring and diagnostic tools to verify product quality and dimensions.
- Verify dimensions with measuring instruments such as tape measure blocks.
- Check materials prior to processing to ensure they meet specifications.
- Adhere to all company safety guidelines and properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to prevent incidents or injuries.
- Maintain knowledge and proper use of safety equipment, work aids, tools, and PPE.
Required Qualifications:
- Electrical wiring experience.
- Ability to work with 480 Volt 3 Phase systems.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to read wiring schematics and blueprints.
- Knowledge of AC/DC circuitry.
- Understanding of multi-meter functions.
- Ability to measure, examine, assemble, test, and complete units while detecting defects using precision testing instruments and specified programs.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
