Contract Duration: 12 Weeks, with potential for extension
Shift: 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM (12-hour nights/evenings)
Catholic Medical Center is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) for a 12-week travel assignment. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced Emergency Department that treats a diverse patient population, including trauma, cardiac, and critical care cases.
Unit Overview- 25 treatment/procedure rooms 8 hallway beds (in constant use)
- 4-bed secure psychiatric holding area (Annex)
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 4:1 (flexible during surges)
- Collaborative team of 80 staff members
- EMR System: Sunrise / Allscripts
- High-acuity patients with complex conditions, including:
- Cardiac (New England Heart Institute cases)
- Trauma and stroke
- Sepsis and DKA
- Psychiatric emergencies
- Deliver rapid, high-quality emergency nursing care
- Perform patient assessments and prioritize care in critical situations
- Interpret EKGs and manage cardiac drips
- Assist with trauma response and emergency procedures
- Administer medications and initiate treatment protocols
- Perform IV/IO insertions, including ultrasound-guided IVs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Active RN License (must be active at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications (required)
- Strong IV and critical care skills
- Proven ability to work in high-pressure environments
- Travel nursing experience
- Strong EKG interpretation skills
- Experience with high-acuity emergency cases
- Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Adaptability in fast-paced, high-volume settings
- Dependability and professionalism
- Trauma care and stroke management
- Laceration repair and orthopedic emergencies
- Cardiopulmonary stabilization
- Psychiatric emergency care
- Ultrasound-guided IV insertion and IO access
