Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift – 4x10 Hours (07:00 AM – 05:30 PM)
 

Job Summary:
 

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Dialysis/Apheresis to join a highly specialized Apheresis – Pathology Lab unit. The RN will be responsible for performing advanced apheresis and dialysis-related procedures while providing 1:1 patient care. Candidates with strong dialysis experience may be considered; however, apheresis experience is highly preferred.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform apheresis treatments, including:
  • Therapeutic Plasma Exchange (Plasmapheresis)
  • Red Blood Cell Exchange
  • Blood priming and post-apheresis care
• Initiate and manage dialysis treatments
• Perform blood return and post-dialysis care
• Access and manage:
  • AV fistulas and AV grafts
  • Tunneled and non-tunneled catheters
• Monitor patient status during procedures and manage complications
• Maintain strict infection control practices
• Accurately document patient care in Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of RN experience (Dialysis or Apheresis)
• Active RN License (IN or compact) – must be in hand at submission
• BLS Certification (AHA) required
• Strong experience with:
  • Dialysis setup and management
  • Central lines and vascular access
• Travel experience required (only if candidate has prior Apheresis experience)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Apheresis experience strongly preferred
• Previous Charge Nurse experience
• Experience with:
  • Red Blood Cell Exchange
  • Plasma Exchange / Plasmapheresis
• Experience in acute inpatient or chronic outpatient dialysis settings
• Experience working in a teaching hospital
• Proficiency in Cerner EMR system
