Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team at a skilled nursing facility in Norfolk, VA. In this role, you will help residents improve mobility, strength, physical function, and independence while supporting their overall quality of life.

The ideal candidate is dedicated to resident-centered care, enjoys working with diverse patient needs, and is committed to helping residents achieve their therapy goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist residents with prescribed physical therapy treatments, exercises, and therapeutic activities.
• Help residents improve mobility, strength, balance, and daily functioning.
• Support established treatment plans and therapy goals under the direction of a Physical Therapist.
• Educate residents on home exercise programs, safe movement techniques, and activity modifications.
• Monitor residents’ progress and communicate relevant observations to the therapy team.
• Document therapy services and resident progress accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Promote resident safety, comfort, and independence throughout treatment sessions.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant studies from an accredited institution.
• Current, unrestricted Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in Virginia.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health records.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• A compassionate, resident-focused approach to patient care.
