Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our healthcare team in Anaheim, California. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, performing high-quality nuclear medicine imaging procedures, and ensuring compliance with all radiation safety standards. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will work closely with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning while maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, measure, and administer radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with physician orders and regulatory requirements.
- Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures using specialized diagnostic equipment.
- Ensure adherence to radiation safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Monitor patients during imaging procedures and provide clear instructions to ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Evaluate image quality and perform quality control procedures on imaging equipment.
- Maintain accurate patient records, imaging documentation, and procedure reports.
- Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, and healthcare team members to support diagnostic and treatment needs.
- Follow established protocols, infection control standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in departmental quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain equipment functionality and report any operational issues as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiologic Technology (ARRT, NMTCB, or equivalent).
- Current and valid certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety principles and regulatory compliance.
- Experience preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals.
- Proficiency in performing nuclear medicine imaging procedures.
- Understanding of medical protocols, patient care standards, and diagnostic imaging practices.
- Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cardiac nuclear imaging procedures.
- Experience with mobile imaging services and equipment.
- Prior experience in a hospital, outpatient imaging center, or diagnostic facility.
- Strong patient-centered approach with excellent interpersonal skills.
