What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mainframe Data Conversion Lead position at LanceSoft, Inc.?
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Data Conversion Lead to lead the migration of legacy mainframe data into Salesforce using Informatica as the primary ETL tool and SQL Server as the staging and transformation platform.
This role is critical to ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and compliance during large-scale legacy modernization and data migration initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mainframe data conversion projects from discovery through go-live and post-production support
- Analyze legacy mainframe data sources including IBM z/OS, DB2, VSAM, IMS, flat files, and COBOL copybooks
- Create source-to-target mapping documents and define transformation rules
- Design and develop ETL workflows using Informatica (IICS / PowerCenter)
- Use SQL Server for staging, cleansing, reconciliation, and data transformation
- Collaborate with Salesforce teams to load data using Salesforce APIs, Bulk API, and Data Loader
- Perform data profiling, cleansing, deduplication, and validation
- Develop cutover and reconciliation plans to ensure successful migration
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and best practices for data conversion teams
- Report project status, risks, and issues to leadership and stakeholders
Required Experience & Skills
- 10 years of overall data integration / ETL experience
- 5 years of experience in Mainframe to Modern Platform data migration
- Strong experience with IBM Mainframe technologies (z/OS, DB2, VSAM, IMS, COBOL, JCL)
- Expert-level experience with Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS)
- Strong expertise in SQL Server (T-SQL, stored procedures, performance tuning)
- Strong experience with Salesforce data migration and Salesforce objects
- Deep understanding of data modeling and mainframe-to-relational conversion techniques
- Experience with large-scale legacy modernization or data conversion projects
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams
