Status: Full-time
Schedule: 7.50 Hours/Day (7:30 am-3:00 pm), Monday-Friday 185 Days/Year
Minimum Hourly Salary: $25.59
Purpose Of Position
The goal of Job Training Services is to teach job skills, social awareness, and work ethics for empowering students to gain and maintain independence as they transition to adult life.
Knowledge & Skill Requirements
Education Required: Effective July 1, 2010 Meets one of the following four qualifications:

Experience Required: Minimum of two years' general experience in the work place; experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
Desired Certification: CPR/First Aid/AED

Driving Skills
The strength and ability to lift and/or assist in lifting students ranging in age from pre-school to twenty-one and any assistive appliances, for example: wheelchair.
The ability to physically restrain students in emotional stress by using the Crisis Prevention Institute Training (CPI), Safe Crisis Management (SCM) or Quality Behavior Supports (QBS) method, depending on program need, for which training will be provided.
Must be able to contextually run/sprint after/to an eloping child and be able to help a learner off the floor should they drop to the floor under their own power.

- Have completed at least 2 years of postsecondary study with a minimum of 48 credit hours. Copy of transcript required within 30 days of employment.
- Possess an associate degree or higher. Copy of degree or transcripts required within 30 days of employment.
- Have completed the Credential of Competency for Special Education Paraeducators through the PA Department of Education. A copy of the credential must be submitted within 30 days of hire into Job Training position.
Experience Required: Minimum of two years' general experience in the work place; experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
Desired Certification: CPR/First Aid/AED
Other Skills
- Demonstrated competency in interpersonal relationships with adults and students.
- Knowledge of the local job market and employment trends.
- Familiar with social service agencies that support post-secondary needs, such as Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, Goodwill
- Ability to recognize and document employability skills of students and provide appropriate job matches.
Driving Skills
- Satisfactory driving record for past 3 years.
- Valid PA driver's license.
- Valid vehicle registration, inspection/emissions, and insurance
- Ability to use personal vehicle for work related assignment.
