Summary
The Senior Storage Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all storage, shipping, and receiving operations across multiple locations. This role ensures accurate inventory management, efficient logistics coordination, staff supervision, and compliance with customer and operational requirements. The Storage Supervisor plays a critical leadership role in maintaining smooth day-to-day warehouse and storage operations.
What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)
- Receive, pull, and ship customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Oversee and manage receiving operations at offsite locations with minimal oversight
- Support or lead primary receiving operations as needed
- Manage inventory across multiple locations, including cycle counting and reconciliation
- Supervise and balance workloads for shipping and receiving staff
- Prepare and manage paperwork for outgoing shipments
- Schedule shipping and receiving appointments for multiple locations
- Oversee maintenance schedules for all storage vehicles and equipment
- Cross-train to perform duties of the Manager and Assistant Manager when required
- Implement disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies
- Maintain working knowledge of multiple inventory management systems
- Optimize storage and inventory space to support ongoing operations
- Supervise employees depending on staffing and management availability
- Recruit, hire, and terminate personnel as necessary
- Maintain detailed knowledge of customer-specific shipment requirements
- Support overall procurement objectives and process improvements
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of three years of experience in a warehouse, distribution, or shipping and receiving environment
- At least one year of experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Computer proficiency
- Ability to learn and adapt to new systems and programs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage an evolving, fast-paced work environment
- Ability to operate machinery and storage equipment
Preferred Requirements
- Knowledge of logistics and warehouse operations
- Experience with shipping and receiving documentation
- Understanding of container loading and freight handling operations
