Position: Production Accountant
Location/Department: Lancaster, PA (Onsite) / Factory Shipping & Receiving
Hours: M-F, 6am-2:30pm

Lancaster Leaf Tobacco Co Inc. is a subsidiary of Universal Corporation, the leading global leaf tobacco supplier. Lancaster Leaf manages Universal’s dark air cured tobacco operations in all relevant traditional dark air-cured origins. Operations in Lancaster, PA. consist of a processing facility, storage facility, and main office which also houses Universal’s dark air cured regional headquarters. The Company also has a cutting/flavoring line in the Dominican Republic. Lancaster Leaf supplies virtually all of the major cigar manufacturers in the U.S. with filler, binder, and wrapper from the U.S. and other origins. In addition to domestic supply, Lancaster exports filler, binder, and wrapper to international cigar manufacturers. Lancaster Leaf contracts directly with farmers in all dark air cured growing regions of the U.S. which include Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Virginia, Tennessee and Kentucky.
Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Accountant to manage the shipping, receiving communication and documents. This position is also responsible for completing cost & yield statements when production runs are finished.
What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)
- Coordinate with storage, logistics, and customer’s for tobacco delivery schedules along with receiving manager
- Keep record of weekly trailer lot lists
- Communicate with the internal truck driver the trailer needs for the day for receiving and shipping dept.
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments with customers, sales officers and logistics teams
- Keep backup records of all shipping related documents
- Make sure all production inventory is put in the correct warehouse location
- Correct any inventory location issues and communicate this to factory manager
- Complete production cost and yield statements by reviewing blend sheets and outputs before submitting to factory manager
- Collect all quality control reports based on customer needs
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business or supply chain management or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to multi-task
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, time management, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Skills
- 2 years of experience with logistics and / or shipping
- Experience in tobacco, food, or regulated manufacturing industries
- Experience using Microsoft platforms Excel, Word, Etc.
- Experience using TOIS, DAX, and WISHk
