Compensation Range:

$38,863.50 - $58,305.00

Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

  • This complex clerical work involving the typing and processing of documents in a variety of functions.

  • An employee in this position performs clerical work of complexity which requires the utilization of typing skills and the application of independent judgement.

  • Work involves the skilled typing and grammatical/format review of correspondence, reports, data, agendas, and similar documents.

  • Work includes making decisions between different procedures to be followed for activities that are unpredictable or random.

  • Work may also involve frequent interaction and working partnerships with departmental staff, other agencies, and community partners.

  • Work may involve the skilled utilization of specialized equipment.

  • Work may involve providing training and guidance to new employees and functioning as a lead worker for moderately complex clerical operations.

  • Work is performed with considerable independence and is subject to periodic changes in the operating procedures and requires some adaptability in work schedule.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Employees work with considerable independence within standard operating procedure, however, detailed supervisory guidance and review is received for new or unusual situations and changes in operating procedures and policies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for coordinating and scheduling mental health court hearings with hospitals, attorneys, and court system.

  • Complete paperwork for different court commitments, arrange ambulance transport, and make hospital arrangements.

  • Maintain consistent records concerning Wernersville State Hospital commitments.

  • Must have thorough understanding of MHPA of 1966 and be able to quickly find answers to varied questions.

  • Accurately type letters, memos, reports, spreadsheets, and creation of other documentation.

  • Complete all copying, faxing, scanning, mailing and distributing as assigned.

  • Ability to interact with various agencies and coordinate many schedules.

  • Creates and designs forms and training materials on an as-needed basis.

  • Protect and shred all confidential information in accordance wth HIPPA guidelines.

OTHER SPECIFIC TASKS OR DUTIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Six months as a Clerical Specialist, and educational development of the level of completion of high school; or

  • One year of progressively complex clerical typing experience and completion of high school; or

  • Six months of moderately complex clerical typing work and completion of a post high school or business curriculum; or

  • Any equivalent experience and/or training which provided the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/CLEARANCES

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen test

  • Must have acceptable background checks that include: Childline Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Clearance, fingerprint clearance

  • All clearances are required prior to start of employment and may not be more than one year old at time of employment

  • Must have a valid Driver's License and acceptable driving history in accordance with County Policy.

  • Work is primarily sedentary in nature; no special demands are required.
