What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Associate position at Lancaster County Food Hub?
The Lancaster County Food Hub (LCFH) is looking for a Warehouse Assistant to join our team.
The Lancaster County Food Hub (LCFH) programs directly address the challenges of poverty and homelessness that impact so many in our community. At our front door, the work of upholding dignity, promoting inclusivity, and building relationships begins long before food or clothing are distributed. The LCHF lobby welcomes visitors of many walks of life, and our aim is to ensure that everyone has a positive and supportive experience.
The applicant must have positive energy, strong people skills, an attitude of service, and represent the Lancaster County Food Hub in a professional manner when interacting with clients, volunteers, staff, community partners and other constituents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist volunteers working during program hours with tasks related to the daily distribution.
- Monitor food supplies being distributed keeping food items stocked for distribution.
- Receive, weigh and log incoming donations for Dock B in compliance with local, state and federal guidelines.
- Monitor tables on Dock B for foods not taken by clients and return to appropriate locations in warehouse.
- Maintain a consistent presence on the warehouse floor.
- Help distributing food to Food Hub clients.
- Providing direction and support to Food Hub volunteers.
- Keep food distribution area as clutter free as possible and remove any obstructions to the work flow during distribution.
- Maintain and adhere to all local, state and federal guidelines and regulations pertaining to safety, sanitation and food service ensuring a healthy Food Hub environment.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES:
Education and Knowledge:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with non-profits and volunteers is a plus
- Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
- Comfort and ability to drive a small or large cargo van on the highway or in the city safely, when needed
- Serve Safe handler certification preferred and can be obtained on the job
- Pallet jack and forklift certified
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
