Function
This position is responsible for ensuring proper administrative duties are timely and accurately performed for Accounting, Employee Relations, and Production Departments in a manufacturing plant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the following human resource administration is performed accurately and in a timely manner.
- New hire interviewing
- New hire processing and orientation including safety
- Insurance (medical / workers comp)
- Benefit administration
- Confidential Files
- Corporate monthly reports
Ensure the following Accounting Administration is performed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Payroll (daily review of employee activities)
- Accounts Payable (match invoice to purchase order, verify price and quantity and enter into Oracle)
- Purchase Order Filing
- Generate invoices for customer billing.
Ensure the following Production Administration is performed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Efficiency and scrap reporting
- Maintenance Management reporting
- Quality Management administration
Perform receptionist duties, when required, which include phones, visitors and mail.
Communicate employee issues and concerns to appropriate personnel.
Back up for Customer Service Representative
Assist, when needed, for production entries for Production Scheduler
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree is preferred
- 3-5 years of experience working in an office environment; manufacturing setting is a plus
- 1-3 years working with accounting software is required; QuickBooks is required
- Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience in processing payroll and payables; UKG experience is preferred
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Ability to:
- Collaborate with others and work effectively in a team environment
- Independently solving problems
- Work independently with minimum supervision while prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines
- Prioritize projects based on business needs to complete on time
- Take initiative to plan and complete assigned work with a high level of accuracy
- Travel between plants periodically

Lancaster Container was founded in 1976 to provide customers with a dependable steel pail. In the beginning, Richard Pflumm saw a need locally in the marketplace for pail production. The company started by servicing Armstrong. Since that time, they have expanded to a much larger and broader customer base. Currently, they provide pails and containers to customers all over North America. Currently, we have two locations in Pennsylvania that support customers throughout the United States. Our goal is to continuously provide our customers with quality pails through excellent service at an outstanding value.
