We are a growing chiropractic neurology clinic in Lancaster, PA seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team full-time.
Our clinic provides specialized chiropractic and neurological care, and this position plays an important role in keeping our billing and insurance processes running smoothly. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, comfortable working independently, and has strong knowledge of medical insurance billing and reimbursement.
Responsibilities
- Submit and manage medical insurance claims
- Verify patient insurance benefits and eligibility
- Follow up on outstanding claims and accounts receivable
- Research and resolve claim denials, rejections, and payment issues
- Post insurance and patient payments accurately
- Handle workers’ compensation and automobile insurance claims
- Obtain and manage insurance authorizations
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and reimbursement
- Review EOBs/ERAs and reconcile payments
- Maintain accurate patient and billing records
- Assist with identifying and correcting billing errors
- Stay current with insurance requirements and billing guidelines
- Communicate professionally with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Perform other billing and administrative duties as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in medical billing preferred
- Strong understanding of medical insurance claims and reimbursement
- Experience with workers’ compensation and/or automobile insurance billing is a plus
- Experience with authorizations and insurance follow-up preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of responsibilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with computers and medical billing software
- Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
