Project Overview
We are seeking an experienced Network Segmentation, Wireless Security, and NAC Effectiveness Testing Consultant for a 3-day onsite engagement in Hoboken, New Jersey (07030).
The consultant will perform a focused, hands-on assessment to determine whether an adversary could pivot from guest Wi-Fi, corporate Wi-Fi, or untrusted wired ports into the corporate network, bypass segmentation boundaries, or evade NAC controls.
This engagement simulates realistic lateral movement and unauthorized device onboarding attempts across both wired and wireless environments.
Key Responsibilities (3-Day Onsite Assessment)
Day 1 – Discovery & Wireless / Wired Recon
- Review network architecture, AP configurations, and NAC policies.
- Validate VLAN assignments, firewall zones, SSID segmentation, and switch uplink configurations.
- Conduct wireless reconnaissance of:
- Guest Wi-Fi
- Corporate Wi-Fi
- IoT / BYOD SSIDs
- Begin NAC policy evaluation (profiling, 802.1X, posture validation).
Day 2 – Adversarial Testing (Wired Wireless)
Wireless Access Point Security Tests
- Attempt lateral movement from wireless networks.
- Test for:
- Rogue AP susceptibility
- Evil-Twin attacks
- Wireless-to-wired pivoting
- SSID/VLAN misconfigurations
- WPA2/WPA3 Enterprise enforcement
- Assess AP segmentation and controller security.
Network Segmentation Tests
- Attempt boundary traversal between VLANs.
- Validate firewall ACLs and segmentation integrity.
- Test lateral movement from guest Wi-Fi and untrusted wired ports.
NAC Effectiveness Tests
- Attempt unauthorized device onboarding.
- Test NAC resilience against spoofing, impersonation, and unmanaged devices.
Day 3 – Validation, Documentation & Reporting
- Complete testing and capture all findings.
- Map attack paths and segmentation weaknesses.
- Document NAC enforcement gaps.
- Deliver:
- Technical findings
- Executive summary
- Prioritized remediation recommendations
Required Qualifications
- 5 years in network security, wireless security, penetration testing, or red teaming.
- Deep knowledge of:
- Wireless controllers & AP architecture (Cisco, Aruba, Meraki, Fortinet, etc.)
- 802.1X, EAP-TLS/PEAP, RADIUS integration
- VLAN segmentation, firewall zoning, and Zero Trust design
- NAC tools such as Cisco ISE, ClearPass, or FortiNAC
- Experience with:
- Wireless pentesting
- Lateral movement simulation
- Segmentation validation
- Familiarity with NIST 800-207, CIS Controls, ISO 27001 network controls.
Preferred Certifications:
CWSP, OSWP, OSCP, GPEN, CEH, CCNP Security, CISSP.
