The Kansas City, MO office is seeking a qualified, organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, and observant individual to serve as a Construction Observer. The Construction Observer assures that the project has been constructed in accordance with project plans and specifications.
A successful candidate will possess
- Construction, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or Surveying experience.
- The ability to interpret civil engineering plans and specifications with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to relay plan and specification requirements to contractors and to effectively communicate with members of the project team.
- Well-developed problem-solving skills.
- The ability to collaborate with contractors, clients, and coworkers.
- Proven organizational skills,
- The ability to work well with a variety of character types and backgrounds.
- Basic computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office Outlook, Word and Excel, Adobe or Bluebeam software.
- The ability to physically maneuver around construction sites, including accessing stabilized excavations and trenches, structures, and other disturbed areas.
- The ability to lift and carry 50 pounds of weight.
- The availability to work overtime including Saturdays as needed.
- A dependable personal vehicle to access our project sites.
- Valid driver’s license with minimum state required liability insurance and clean driving record.
