We are hiring an experienced Loader Operator. This position will vary in tasks and could range from working with the pipe crew installing underground utilities, to installing septic systems, digging and backfilling foundations, bringing site to grade, installing stormwater controls, etc. If you're reliable, safety-focused, and ready to work hard as part of a team, we want to hear from you.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Proven expert experience operating excavators in a variety of environments
- Ability to read and follow grade stakes or verbal instruction for determining grade, excavation depth or position; GPS experience preferred.
- Comfortable working in adverse weather conditions
- Able to work safely around live utilities
- Must follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE (hard hat, boots, hearing protection, etc.)
- Ability to perform basic maintenance and pre-checks on equipment
- Valid driver’s license
- Support crews in all excavation environments
- Support the rest of the crew with safe trenching and backfilling operations
- Work closely with foreman and crew to meet project specs and deadlines
- Maintain safe working distances and proper slopes in trenching and excavation as required by OSHA standards
- Be aware of the condition of the machine while operating and report any issues
- Perform maintenance on the machine such as greasing the machine each morning, keeping the cab clean, properly inspecting the equipment each shit.
- Perform general laborer duties when equipment is not in use which include:
- Lifting and Carrying Items weighing as much as 50 Lbs.
- Standing and Walking
- Bending, Stooping, and Kneeling
- Climbing
- Pushing and Pulling
- Shoveling, raking, sweeping, etc.
- Use power tools
