Job Summary
As a member of the residential staff, the incumbent works to establish and maintain a respectful and dignified atmosphere for psychiatrically-disabled residents. Work includes both housekeeping duties and providing safety and support to residents. Residential staff will build relationships with residents and use clinical skills to engage clients in activities and self-regulation as appropriate and will communicate clinically relevant observations to supervisors and treatment team members. Residential staff will comply with regulations for documenting services and clinical information, including incident reports, in a timely fashion. Residential staff will engage in ongoing training to develop clinical skills.
Residential Support Staff working at Johnson Group Home will help clients establish and maintain progress toward personal goals and develop a range of skills for independent living. Residential Support Staff will identify and facilitate opportunities for residents to experience growth and autonomy. They will work in the milieu to support clients to engage constructively with each other and offer structure for activities of daily living, decreasing as clients move toward mastery. They may transport clients in the course of supporting progress toward treatment goals.

Education/Experience
Required: High School Diploma
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in human services field; at least 1 year of experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.
License/Certifications
Required: Valid drivers’ license
Preferred: LNA and/or NAPPI Safety Training
Salary : $16 - $18
