We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Math Olympiad Advisor to build and lead competitive Math Olympiad teams for Grades K–8. Math Olympiad is a problem-solving competition that fosters critical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and competition readiness. This position is ideal for teachers, college students, parents, or math professionals who enjoy inspiring students to develop their mathematical skills.
Time Commitment:
2–4 hours per week after school (October–May), plus additional time for required trainings, after-hours, and weekend competitions.
Key Responsibilities / Duties
Organize and lead weekly after-school Math Olympiad practice sessions.
Encourage teamwork, problem-solving, and mathematical curiosity among students.
Guide students in preparing for Math Olympiad competition problems and challenges.
Attend all county, regional, and state Math Olympiad competitions with the team.
Maintain accurate student sign-in sheets for every practice.
Coordinate materials, logistics, and communication with parents and school staff.
Attend required teacher training sessions and county/regional Math Olympiad meetings.
Minimum Qualifications / Requirements
Strong comfort with mathematics and experience coaching or mentoring students.
Prior experience with academic competitions preferred.
Passionate about math education and fostering problem-solving skills.
Organized, dependable, and collaborative.
Experience working with elementary and middle school students is recommended.
Must commit to weekly after-school practices and weekend competition events during the October–May season.
