Join the LAMMCO team as an Interior Designer and help create functional, inspiring environments for businesses, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and organizations throughout Lafayette and the surrounding communities.
In this role, you'll collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and project managers to develop innovative interior solutions that balance aesthetics, functionality, budget, and project goals. Your expertise will help transform spaces through thoughtful space planning, furniture specification, finish selection, and workplace design.
Duties
- Develop comprehensive interior design concepts, furniture layouts, and space plans using CET (Configura), Revit, AutoCAD, and other industry-standard design software.
- Create renderings, visualizations, and presentation materials to communicate design intent and project solutions.
- Collaborate with clients to understand project goals, workplace needs, budgets, and design preferences.
- Specify furniture, finishes, fabrics, materials, and accessories that align with project objectives and budgets.
- Prepare quotations, finish schedules, specifications, and design documentation.
- Conduct site visits, field measurements, installation reviews, and project inspections as needed.
- Coordinate with manufacturers, vendors, contractors, and internal project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist with project management activities, ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget.
- Research industry trends, products, and emerging workplace design solutions.
- Present design concepts and recommendations to clients and project stakeholders.
Experience
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or a related field.
- Experience preferred but not required.
- Experience with CET Design (Configura) and/or Revit preferred.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) preferred.
- Experience creating finish schedules, specifications, and design presentations is a plus.
- Strong understanding of space planning, color theory, furniture specification, and interior design principles.
- Ability to visualize concepts and communicate design ideas effectively.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Interest in commercial interiors, furniture systems, workplace design, and emerging industry trends.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical building systems is beneficial but not required.
