The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting food products safely and efficiently between various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the supply chain within the food industry.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a commercial vehicle to transport food products to and from designated locations
- Load and unload food products, ensuring proper handling and securement
- Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure on-time deliveries and pickups
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and warehouse staff
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to maintain safety and compliance
- Maintain accurate delivery records and logs
- Adhere to food safety regulations and handling procedures
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries and pickups
Qualifications:
- Valid commercial driver's license Class A & Class B (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in pickup and delivery operations, preferably in the food industry
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and handling practices
- Ability to lift and move heavy items as required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Flexibility to work varying schedules and overtime as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent
