Assistant Office Manager – School Bus & Motor Coach Operations

Lamers Bus Lines is hiring a full-time Assistant Office Manager to support our school bus and motor coach charter operations. This position is ideal for someone with strong organizational and communication skills who thrives in a fast-paced office environment and is looking for career growth in the transportation industry.
Position Overview
As an Assistant Office Manager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations in our terminal office. You’ll manage a variety of administrative duties, assist with scheduling and booking charter trips, handle customer inquiries, and support our drivers and management team. This position requires excellent customer service skills, accuracy in data entry, and the ability to multitask. With training and experience, you’ll take on greater responsibilities, including quoting charter trips, resolving customer concerns, and supervising office functions.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Terminal Manager with daily office operations and driver support.
  • Answer incoming calls, provide accurate information, or direct to the correct department.
  • Manage charter reservations: enter bookings, prepare confirmations, and verify trip details.
  • Provide accurate estimates for charter trips using rate sheets.
  • Prepare and distribute daily driver manifests and route information.
  • Shared rotation of weekend on-call duty.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree, Technical College training, or minimum of 2 years of office experience in a transportation setting.
  • Strong computer skills with daily use of Microsoft Office and data entry programs.
  • Proficiency with standard office equipment (printers, scanners, fax, copiers, calculators).
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and professional phone etiquette.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Willingness to train and qualify as a School Bus Driver (obtain a CDL with required endorsements) to provide operational support as needed.
