Reporting to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, the Director of Major and Planned Gifts is responsible for identification, cultivation, and solicitation of individual major gifts and planned gifts. This position supervises the Advancement Officer and works in close collaboration with other members of the Advancement staff, board members, executive staff, and outside key contacts to develop prospects.


Qualified candidates will have five years of progressively responsible experience in major gifts, planned giving, or comprehensive fundraising, with a proven record of achieving fundraising goals. The demonstrated ability to build, cultivate, and sustain meaningful relationships with donors, volunteers, alumni, and other key stakeholders is essential. The Director will have exceptional interpersonal, communication, and networking skills with the ability to engage individuals across diverse backgrounds and levels of influence. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of fundraising principles, major gift cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and planned giving strategies. The Director will have experience utilizing prospect research and wealth screening tools to identify, qualify, and evaluate prospective donors. Must be proficient with Raiser's Edge (Blackbaud) or comparable constituent relationship management (CRM) software. Bachelor's degree is required; Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential preferred. Must be a licensed driver and be willing and able to travel and work some evenings and weekends when required.
