Job Purpose:
The Senior Claims Advocate is tasked with managing complex and high-value claims, ensuring optimal outcomes through expert guidance and advocacy on behalf of clients throughout the claims process.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Advocacy: Provide expert guidance and advocate effectively for clients, particularly during complex claim negotiations and settlements
- Claims Analysis and Reporting: Conduct and present detailed claims analyses, including trending and risk assessments, during quarterly or semi-annual client reviews
- Claims Management: Lead the documentation, review, and negotiation of claim reserves with insurance carriers. Follow up proactively on significant cases to monitor for adverse developments
- Workers’ Compensation: Leverage Workers’ Compensation expertise to assist clients in with claim management, cost containment, and claim resolution.
- Collaborative Coordination: Work closely with internal teams, legal counsel, and adjusters to coordinate comprehensive claims handling
- Client Engagement: Organize and conduct client meetings to review claims statuses and strategies; visit client sites as needed to assess and discuss claims needs
- Team Support and Training: Share insights and knowledge with team members to enhance overall claims management practices; provide training and coaching as necessary
Qualification
- P&C License or adjuster’s license required, with willingness to obtain P&C Producers license within 90 days of hire
- 5-8 years of experience in claims management within an insurance carrier, brokerage, or as part of an insured organization’s risk management team
- Experience in Workers’ Compensation claims management, including understanding of state-specific variations in resolving Workers' Compensation claims
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and experience with RMIS systems
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a willingness to travel locally
