Full job description
An Owner Operator is an independent truck driver who owns and operates their own vehicle (such as a Sprinter Van, Cargo Van, or Box Truck) to transport goods for clients or logistics companies. Unlike company drivers, owner operators are self-employed and manage their own business operations, routes, and schedules.
✅ Key Responsibilities
- Freight Transportation: Pick up and deliver cargo across local, regional, or nationwide routes.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain the vehicle in top working condition, including regular inspections, repairs, and cleanliness.
- Route Planning: Choose efficient delivery routes to ensure on-time delivery and fuel efficiency.
- Compliance: Follow DOT regulations, safety protocols, and logbook requirements.
- Customer Service: Communicate professionally with clients and dispatchers.
- Business Management: Handle expenses, fuel logs, invoices, and other small business operations.
- Load Securement: Ensure that cargo is safely and properly loaded and secured for transit.
