What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Youth Minister position at Lamar Street Baptist Church?
Lamar Street Baptist Church is seeking a dedicated and passionate Part-Time Youth Minister to lead and nurture the spiritual growth of our middle and high school students. This individual will develop meaningful relationships with students and families, provide biblically grounded teaching, and create engaging opportunities for youth to grow in faith, fellowship, and service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging, biblically sound lessons for youth gatherings, Bible studies, and special events.
- Organize, plan, and oversee youth activities including retreats, camps, service projects, and fellowship events.
- Provide spiritual guidance, mentorship, and encouragement to students as they grow in their faith.
- Collaborate with church staff to integrate youth ministry activities with the overall mission and events of the church.
- Build relationships with parents and guardians to support the spiritual development of students and maintain clear communication.
- Manage the youth ministry budget and resources responsibly and efficiently.
- Participate in regular church staff meetings and ministry planning sessions.
Qualifications:
- A strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and commitment to the beliefs, mission, and values of the Baptist Faith and Message.
- Experience working with youth in a ministry or leadership setting preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan and execute events effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
