Responsibilities
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, naps, and structured activities to ensure safety and well-being
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that encourages learning and creativity
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, behaviors, and daily experiences
- Follow all mandated reporting laws to report any concerns related to child safety or well-being
- Assist with diapering, feeding, and basic health needs of infants and toddlers as required
- Support inclusive classroom practices by accommodating children with special needs or disabilities using specialized techniques
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood settings
- Knowledge of child development principles and age-specific caregiving techniques
- Certification in first aid, CPR, including pediatric first aid procedures
- Familiarity with special education strategies and experience working with children with disabilities or developmental delays
- Strong classroom management skills to foster positive behavior and social interactions
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent engagement and teamwork
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently while adhering to safety protocols
- Experience with behavior management techniques and caregiving for infants through preschool-aged children
