Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Junior Building Engineer to join our team in managing day-to-day operations at a premier Class A office building. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a solid foundation in building systems and a strong desire to grow within the commercial real estate industry. Compensation will be competitive, including base salary range of $60,000-$70,000 per year, benefits, and an opportunity for bonus.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems, including HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety systems
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure systems operate efficiently and safely
- Respond to service requests and tenant concerns in a timely, professional manner
- Maintain logs of maintenance activities, repairs, and systems conditions.
- Maintain equipment logs and assist with maintaining inventory of tools and supplies
- Take direction from and work closely with the Senior Building Engineer to implement and conduct maintenance plans and complete capital improvements
- Support energy management, safety compliance, and sustainability initiatives
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in building operations, facilities, or related technical field
- Available for on-call duties and after-hours emergencies as needed
- Good working knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire
- safety systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to building maintenance
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Strong communication (with team members, tenants, and contractors) and
- Organizational skills
