Duties
- Lead and supervise bakery staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management to ensure high standards of service and productivity
- Oversee daily bakery operations, including product preparation, presentation, and quality control to ensure freshness and customer satisfaction
- Manage inventory levels through effective stock control, purchasing, and merchandising strategies to minimize waste and maximize profitability
- Implement pricing strategies and promotional activities to boost sales while maintaining competitive market positioning
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food handling standards, and sanitation procedures at all times
- Utilize POS (Point of Sale) systems for transactions, cash handling, payroll processing, and sales reporting with accuracy and integrity
- Develop marketing initiatives to attract new customers and retain loyal patrons through community engagement and special events
- Monitor store performance metrics such as retail math (sales per square foot), budgeting, and sales management to meet financial goals
- Foster a team-oriented environment through effective communication skills, employee orientation programs, coaching, and development opportunities
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail management or bakery supervision with demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual proficiency is a plus for diverse customer interactions
- Knowledge of inventory management systems, POS technology, bookkeeping, payroll processing, and retail math principles
- Experience in recruiting, interviewing, training & development of staff to build a motivated team
- Familiarity with merchandising techniques, store management practices, pricing strategies, and marketing initiatives
- Previous assistant manager or supervisory experience in retail or grocery store settings preferred
- Skills in negotiation, employee orientation, time management, organizational skills, and leadership are essential for success in this role
